Medications are provided directly from the pharmaceutical companies through their patient assistance programs. We facilitate the application process, but the medications come straight from the manufacturer to you.

Pharmaceutical companies run these programs for various reasons. Some say it's genuine commitment to public health, others view it as corporate responsibility or regulatory compliance.

What matters is that these programs exist and can dramatically reduce medication costs for people who qualify. We make accessing them simple and successful.

Patient Assistance Program timelines vary, and applying on your own can cause significant delays if applications aren't completed correctly. Missing documentation, errors, or incomplete paperwork can draw the process our much longer than necessary.

When you enroll with Prescription Lifeline's full-service advocacy, we work to get you your first medication shipment within 6-8 weeks. This timeframe is based on the average we see from our members, though it can be impacted by mail delivery times and delays from your doctor's office in providing required documentation.

Most programs provide a 3-month supply at a time with enrollment periods lasting up to one year. Your specific supply schedule depends on the individual pharmaceutical company's program requirements.

Continue taking your current medication until your first shipment arrives from the pharmaceutical company. Don't stop or change anything until your receive your new supply.

After your application is submitted, watch for mail from the Patient Assistance Program. They may send approval notifications, requests for additional documentation, or updates on your application status. Approval timelines vary by program, typically taking several weeks. Once approved, your medication will ship directly from the pharmaceutical manufacturer to your home or your doctors' office, depending on program guidelines.
